Decent food and, for Kona, not terribly expensive. Yes, it's going to run you about $9 per adult to eat here, but so is almost everywhere else. If you'd like to spend less, go next door to Subway and get one of the four or five sandwiches still available as a $5 footlong. I enjoy the bi bim bap and one of the soups ... it has little dumplings in it. I can't remember the name. It's the only Korean food in town and we go on occasion for something a little different. They don't take credit cards, so take cash.

Pretty disappointing! The chicken katsu plate as well as the chicken cutlet plate came with 4 vegetables sides of your choice. We ordered.. Chicken katsu & rice with potatoes, clear glass noodles, Kim Chee & mustard cabbage! The chicken katsu was super thin with barely any chicken. Chicken cutlet & rice with Kim Chee, sprouts, daikon & Mac salad. The cutlet gravy was blah... All sides were pretty good besides the sprouts, we tossed it out! Over all we would not recommend this place!

Closed.......... just gone.... I read in the paper under comments that it was closed and I confirmed that fact tonite. Bummer because it was convenient to my home for emergencies. Oh well!

Nice local plate lunch style place to go to. The portions are large, the food is Korean and delicious! For two people that were very hungry we paid about $24 for everything and couldn't even finish it all. It is one of those unassuming eateries in a shop center with a Safeway and Denny's across the way. There were not a lot of people there which allowed us time in choosing our sides. My boyfriend got the sea weed soup with chicken and I got the chicken katsu, of course (is that even Korean?). Both were so good! We were very hungry as we just finished our shift volunteering at the Iron man this year (that was so cool!). We just got into our seats and stuffed our faces, it was just right.

Decent fast food Korean. Ambiance was not high, but the food decent. The Bi Bim Bob was as expected.

I wouldn't recommend this place anymore. I've lived in Kona my whole life and used to go to mannas all the time but it's gone down hill in the last few years. It used to be consistent and now you never know what you're going to get. When I went today they were out of 16 things on the menu and their vegetable bar didn't even have corn, noodles or daikon among many other things. The portion sizes are also a lot smaller (I ordered double of two sides and they gave me what used to be just one portion) which wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't paying nearly 13 bucks for one plate. I don't know if they switched owners a few years ago or what but this place has become disappointing.

I'm a little in love. Maybe I come from a backwards place where we don't have this fast-Korean concept, but I love it. Friendly service, tasty food, decent price; hits the spot after a day of snorkeling.

Just ok. Nothing to spectacular other than them being one of the only korean bbq restaurants. But there's nothing really special about this place other than the service. Don't expect a gourmet meal here just a quick fill your belly meal for around 10-15 bucks.

Used to love this place but haven't been in a while. Prices are up; 10 bucks and change for a spicy pork plate. Portions are a little smaller, and the meat, though tasty, was chopped into little pieces. Did not like that. The day we went (Friday afternoon) , they were out of two side dishes: daikon and kim chee. Seriously? No kim chee at a Korean restaurant??? NOT good. Plus the place is showing its age and beginning to look grungy. Maybe new chairs, a coat of paint and a power washing of the tile floor?

A week into our Big Island trip, we were craving for a quick bite of kimchi for lunch. We googled and found this place...weren't too sure what to expect, but hey, it's fast food. Let's not be too critical. Well, it's really 2 stars for the food... We've definitely "experienced better". BUT I'm adding 1 star extra for being one of the very few (if not the only) Korean restaurants in this part of the island...if not the whole island. As others have noted, it's a convenient, cheap and casual spot for a quick bite. Though the food was forgettable, I liked it for the friendly staff and the fact that when the craving for kimchi hits, Manna is there.

Our family visited Hawaii for Christmas and stopped here for our very first meal on the Big Island. The food was delicious and plentiful. No one in the family finished their meal ... and we have 2 teenage boys! I had the Yook Gae Jang soup which was awesome!

My husband and I visited Manna last night as I had a craving for Korean food. I got Yuk Gae Jang (not sure if this is how they spell it). This was supposed to be traditional korean hot soup but I have to say it tastes quite different from what it's supposed to be. Not very flavorful and made with different ingredients as far as the veges go....My husband had spicy pork which was better but still tasting a bit bland....We saw a lot of people ordering Kalbi and Jun which looked really good though. If we ever go back, that's what we will order. It's really 2 stars for what I ate last night but giving 3 stars in case that was the worst thing on their menu.

The food was actually tasty and reasonably priced and the service was friendly. So why only two stars? The tables and chairs need a good deep cleaning scrub, or perhaps two or three deep cleaning scrubs. The server was absolutely paranoid about shutting the door to the kitchen even if she was going back in seconds later, this made me highly suspicious that the kitchen area was not going to look any more pristine than the dining room. If we had not just arrived after a long flight and this place was not right next door to the Safeway, we would not have risked it.

New owners, slightly new menu. Try the Bulgogi or beef spam stirfry.

Manna's is a slightly grungy looking Korean BBQ fast food joint located in your average strip mall, but the bbq dishes, the generous portions, and kind service make up for that. I recommend in particular the bbq chicken and the kalbi beef, which are excellent in texture and flavor. I can't speak for the other dishes, other than the ramen, which I would not recommend (if something has the word bbq in the title, I would stick to bbq) since it manages to be blander than the Maruchan instant ramen that I eat on cold lonely evenings in New York. Each bbq plate also comes with four vegetable sides (or only one if you order the "mini plate"), which you choose from a large selection ranging from your classic kimchi to your more "western" macaroni salad. The prices are very reasonable and the service at Manna's is very friendly. Food takes a bit longer than most other fast food joints, but that's because they cook your meat when you order it, and frankly, once you take a bite into your kalbi beef, I don't think you'll have minded the wait.

Went in with expectations! Avg food, ok service wuldnt go in again. You get 4 sides with your order which is a nice suprise but the food was a disappointment.

This place has gone downhill. It's filthy and the counter people don't know what they are doing.

Eh, kinda just average. You do get a load of food. lots of rice and whatever meat you want. All the sides just kinda taste the same. Not sure how long they were on the warming tray but there was nothing particular distinctive about any of them. Oh, and the bean sprouts where just plain bad.

Good Korean fast food. I like the spicy pork and bbq chicken. You get a choice of four sides with your meal, which includes kimchee, noodles, bok choy, cabbage, seaweed, and others. For less than $10, you get a whole lot of food and its good enough for two people to share. Definitely good for vacationers on a budget.

We were starving after a long flight and were looking for something cheap to eat. We thought Manna might fit the description because of the hole-in-the-wall appearance. Unfortunately, it was a little more than we expected. For $9.29, including tax, we got a barbeque beef plate with four choices of panchan. The barbeque beef was pretty good, sweet and slightly crispy. The sides were good but not the most exciting. Overall, the food was a bit step up from the L&L we had on our last trip to Hawaii, but at almost $10 for a meal, it should have satiated our appetite.

Considering it's easier to find over-priced crap food in Kona this is a decent enough meal. We've wondered about it on every visit to Safeway and Kona Natural Foods and finally wandered in at the end of our trip. We'll definitely return in the future for a quick, "cheaper" meal.

Decent food. Nothing to write home about but quick and tasty. The sides were very ordinary.
